SHOOT ACROSS ARIZONA
The Arizona Bowhunters and Field Archery Association is starting a new series of shoots in hopes of promoting the association and field archery.
Field archery is a great way to get prepared for hunting and have some fun with friends.
We have decided to hold 5 shoots this year. The coupon below will allow you to entry one event free. Each of the events will be in a different format to help expose the archers to more types of shoots.
1st Leg will be a “field” shoot consisting of three 14 target round—a Field Round, a Hunter Round and an Animal Round. Yardages for these rounds go from 10 to 80 yards. The Field and Hunter targets are 3 concentric circles scoring 5/4/3 points. The Animal targets have a kill and wound ring.
2nd Leg will be a 600 Round consisting of 4 – five arrow ends at 3 distances on a 120cm FITA multicolored face. Adult distances are 40, 50 and 60 yards. Children depending on age start at 20, 30 or 40 yards.
3rd Leg will be a marked or unmarked yardage 28 animal round to help prepare everyone for upcoming hunts or to just enjoy themselves shooting in northern AZ. CANCELLED We could not get a location in time.
4th Leg will be and “International” Round. We will not be following the official format on the targets but we will be shooting 3 arrow ends at targets set at 5 yard increments starting at 20 yards and going to 65 yards. We will do this twice for a total of 60 arrows.
The 5th Leg will be a marked yardage shoot at 3-D animals. The targets are scored 10/8/5 and two arrows are shot at each of the 28 targets each day.
