1/4/2012 The following has come to our attention:
On January 1, the Paseo Vista Archery Club's storage bin was broken into and all 36 Samick "Polaris" model beginner's recurve bows were stolen. The bows vary in weight from 10# to 30#, and all 36 were just fitted out with new sights. The bows are marked with a code, L or R for left or right handed, followed by a number. Example: L12 means left handed bow #12.
If you see anyone shooting a Polaris beginners recurve bow, please ask where they got it, especially if you notice the code on the limb. Mostly likely it is the thieves or they bought it from a "garage" sale. If you can, find out if they know whether or not the seller has any more bows for sale. Then contact police with the information.
Also stolen were three dozen Easton Jazz 1916 arrows, all of which are fitted with field tips and plastic vanes.
If you happen to see anything, even on E bay, please contact Mike Culumber at mcullumber@cox.net.
